Starwood Hotels & Resorts is on track to open 40 new hotels in the Middle East and North Africa over the next five years. The properties represent more than 13,000 rooms and portfolio growth of 60 percent in the region. Key openings over the last 18 months include:
- St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort in Abu Dhabi
- A second St. Regis opening in Abu Dhabi later this year
- St. Regis Doha
- Westin Abu Dhabi Golf Resort & Spa
- Le Meridien Oran
- Sheraton Medina and Four Points by Sheraton Medina (debuting in Saudi Arabia later this year)
In addition, Starwood has recently confirmed 10 projects in the region, including four hotels in Dubai, Aloft’s debut in the emirate of Sharjah, the company’s entry into Tajikistan, a Sheraton hotel in Iraq, and another property for Algeria.
