Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. has signed for a Four Points by Sheraton Ljubljana Mons, which will mark the entry of Starwood into Slovenia when it opens in 2014. The new hotel is a conversion of an existing hotel and will be added to the Four Points by Sheraton portfolio following the renovation and re-branding process.

“With a steady increase in international arrivals over the last few years and its strategic location at the crossroads of main European cultural and trade routes, the time is right to enter Slovenia,” says Michael Wale, president of Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Europe, Africa, and Middle East. “Four Points will provide guests with a fresh, new hotel experience at an affordable price point in the country’s capital city.”
Four Points by Sheraton Ljubljana Mons will feature 114 guestrooms including three junior suites, a restaurant and bar, and nearly 9,149 square feet of meeting and event space-including a large ballroom, two meeting rooms, and three boardrooms.
“Growing our mid-market brands in key European markets is core to our development strategy,” says Bart Carnahan, senior vice president of acquisitions and development, Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Europe, Africa, and Middle East. “Four Points by Sheraton has one of the strongest pipelines in the Starwood brand portfolio and continues to be an increasingly attractive choice for owners and developers.”
