Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide will introduce the Westin brand to Egypt with the Westin Cairo Golf Resort & Spa Katameya Dunes early next year. The 128-room resort will be located within the Katameya Dunes development, a luxury residential compound in the New Cairo City District.
“The Westin brand works particularly well with the Katameya Dunes concept and this collaboration is a perfect match, which we expect will create an exceptionally outstanding hotel experience,” say the Abou Taleb brothers, Khaled and Tarek, owners and developers of Katameya Dunes.
The Westin Cairo Golf Resort & Spa Katameya Dunes will be located within a residential community with a 27-hole championship golf course and will be the development’s flagship resort. Along with a ballroom, pool, and fitness center, the hotel will also offer four dining venues-including an all-day dining restaurant, a café, a bar, and a lounge.
Starwood currently operates 11 hotels in Egypt under its Sheraton and Le Méridien brands, including Le Méridien Heliopolis, Le Méridien Pyramids, Sheraton Dreamland, and the newly opened Le Méridien Cairo Airport in the capital city. The company also will reopen Sheraton Cairo Hotel & Casino in 2015 following an extensive renovation and introduce two new luxury brands with the St. Regis Cairo in 2015 and W Cairo in 2016.
