Novotel New York is set to unveil a complete renovation in September. Led by New York-based firm Stonehill & Taylor and developed by the John Hardy Group, the $85 million revamp will reposition the hotel for a younger generation of clientele.
Starting at the West 52nd Street entrance, the renovations will range from the new Supernova restaurant to the outdoor terrace on the 7th floor, as well as the guestrooms. The lobby redesign takes inspiration from celebration and the passage of time⎯⎯both in reference to New Year’s Eve in Times Square. In this space, stylish seating and LCD flat screens are expected to make a dramatic appearance.
Throughout the hotel, computer-controlled hexagonal LED ceiling panels will illuminate spaces in different colors and complement changing music and sounds throughout the day. The renovation will also integrate the lobby and 7th floor public space with added views of Times Square.
Reflecting the hotel’s location in the Theater District, the new Supernova restaurant will feature a contemporary design for traditional American comfort food with an international twist. Featuring 5,700 square feet of space, the outdoor terrace will also be updated with walkways, colorful foliage, and fire pits.
Each of Novotel New York’s 480 guestrooms will be refashioned into a sophisticated space in keeping with the brand’s contemporary design theme. Anchored by a backlit headboard, rooms will boast sleek furnishings, clean lines, and striking colors. New features include chic lighting, 46-inch flat screen TVs, workspaces with iPad docking stations, and soundproof windows that open and close. Ultra-modern bathrooms will also be laid out with steel surfaces and glass showers.
