Despite instabilities in the region, the Middle East continues to be a hot spot for hotel development, according to the 2012 Middle East Hotel Survey from HVS Dubai. The development pipeline in the survey reveals roughly 74,000 new hotel rooms due to come online with the next five years. The UAE will introduce the greatest number of rooms in the region, with about 24,500 due for completion within the next three to five years. In addition, Qatar will see the highest year-on-year growth with more than 5,600 rooms expected to come online in the coming four to five years.
