Swissotel Chicago has completed a $10 million renovation to its lobby, bar, and meeting space, courtesy of Gettys. Inspired by the work of the building’s original architect, Harry Weese, the refurbished lobby is full of unique features. Lighting elements such as the “rainstorm” created by thousands of dangling glass bubble fixtures complement backlit glass panels etched with the Chicago skyline. Near the Amuse bar, a piece by artist Jork André Dieter changes color throughout the day to reflect various moods, while sleek check-in pods replace traditional bulky front desks. The hotel also refreshed meeting space to mimic the existing Event Centre.
