Joie de Vivre Hotels has unveiled The Epiphany Hotel in Palo Alto, California. The location marks one of only two hotels to debut in downtown Palo Alto in more than a decade.
The 1970s-era building was rebuilt from the ground up under the direction of Palo Alto–based Steinberg Architects and New York–based McCartan Interior Design. Paneled with perforated metal, The Epiphany Hotel’s new exterior retains the original façade’s six- story mosaic portrait of El Palo Alto, the thousand-year-old coastal redwood that gave the city its name.
Guestrooms and suites are modern yet warm. Conceived by Palo Alto’s design and innovation firm IDEO and designed by McCartan, mezzanine-level meeting and co-working spaces are wired spots for business travelers. On the ground floor of the hotel is Lure + Till, an all-occasion indoor/outdoor restaurant.
