The Hotel Brussels has unveiled its new guestroom design, part of a comprehensive makeover to the former Hilton. Spanish architectural firm GCA developed the guestroom theme to focus on the tech-savvy cosmopolitan traveler. The firm jettisoned the traditional desk, corner armchair, curtains, and floor and table lamps in favor of a cleaner layout. A leather sofa runs across the width of the room in front of the window, accented with an oval-shaped table, while sliding semi-transparent panels filter light. The bathroom is part of the open floorplan, contributing to the overall spacious feel while affording city views. Accommodations also feature a Mediahub, allowing guests to connect their electronic devices to their in-room TV.

The hotel’s renovation is incorporating a series of eco-friendly elements, including LED lighting, central temperature control of unoccupied rooms, and a co-generation system that will recover waste heat and reuse it to supply most of the hotel’s heating needs.
