The Joule in Dallas is heading into the second phase of its expansion, helmed by ForrestPerkins as the architect of record and Adam D. Tihany on interior design. In addition to its current location in the neo-gothic National Bank building, the Joule will expand to historic buildings constructed in the 1910s.
The expansion will add 29 new guest suites, a single-story penthouse, and two three-story penthouses. Accommodations will feature white oak furnishings, complemented by rich sapphire mohair seating and contrasting gold accents. Suites will showcase deep red and brown leather lounge chairs accented with bright yellow details, while the ultra-luxe penthouse offers a private terrace and color schemes ranging from Yves Klein blue and gold to lime and silver.
The original building’s underground vaults will be home to a nightclub that makes the most of the 16-foot ceilings and heavy slab walls of steel-reinforced concrete. The space will integrate a recording studio, screening room, and private lounge with DJ booth and dance floor. Meanwhile, Texas’s first ESPA will offer six treatment rooms, an ice fountain, steam room, sauna, and geothermal pool. Plans also call for City Hall, a new restaurant from chef Charlie Palmer, along with upgraded meeting space and an oversized exterior all-glass elevator designed to complement the cantilevered glass-front pool on the hotel roof. The elevator will escort guests directly to the new 5,000-square-foot rooftop terrace and garden.
