Starwood Hotels & Resorts and Parnas Hotel Company have signed for The Parnas, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Seoul. Located in the city’s upscale southern district of Gangnam, the hotel’s debut will mark the first Luxury Collection hotel in South Korea.
Slated to open in 2016, the hotel will feature 138 guestrooms, including 24 suites, as well as a restaurant, specialty bar, and lobby lounge.
“While there is increasing demand for luxury hospitality in South Korea, there are limited new opportunities at the highest level,” says Matthew Fry, senior vice president of acquisition and development in Asia Pacific for Starwood.
Starwood currently has six hotels in the country, including W Seoul Walkerhill, Sheraton Seoul D Cube City Hotel, and the Westin Chosun Seoul, as well as two hotels in the development pipeline-Aloft Seoul Gangnam and Sheraton Daegu Hotel.
