The New York Palace has begun a $25 million renovation of its Towers accommodations. San Francisco-based BAMO and New York-based BBG-BBGM will oversee the redesign.
BAMO will expand the private entranceway to the lobby and incorporate Art Deco screens and warm lighting. Entranceway walls will feature wood grain paneling and silk, taking inspiration from the Villard Mansion, with elements like 19th century patterns in the brown carpeting and ceiling.
The updated 176 rooms and suites of the Towers will feature city views, rain showers, repurposed wood, and sliding partition doors in the executive suites.
Designed by BBG-BBGM, the two-bedroom Metropolitan suite resembles an art gallery. Recalling local urban life, the living room is accented with taxi-inspired yellow and blue colors, while the master suite references night views of the city. The second bedroom features butterfly artwork adjacent to a collection of iconic black-and-white images of New York.
