The Plaza Hotel in New York will celebrate the 1920s with period-inspired additions and events beginning March 20th. Historically tied to the novel and its author⎯⎯who was a Plaza devotee⎯⎯the Plaza’s changes will honor the hotel’s role in Baz Luhrmann’s new film adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby.
In tribute to Fitzgerald, the Plaza will add the 900-square-foot Fitzgerald suite on the 18th floor. Designed by Sydney-based production designer Catherine Martin and inspired by the new film, the suite will feature an Art Deco space with period-style furnishings exclusively from Restoration Hardware.
In reflecting the 1920s, the Champagne Bar will capture the glamor of Gatsby’s parties. The bar will showcase Moët Imperial and debut the Moët Champagne cocktail, or the Moët Imperial Gatsby. The Rose Club will include a Gatsby hour with a live jazz band and a Prohibition-inspired speakeasy menu. The signature cocktail for two will be served in an engraved Plaza flask, and partakers can slip the memento into a bag or jacket, Prohibition-style.

Todd English Food Hall will also debut a modern menu of Gatsby-inspired cocktails, while a limited-time Brunch Like Gatsby weekend menu will feature classic 1920s dishes. The Fitzgerald Tea for the Ages offers tea aficionados with 1920s favorites.
Reservations will be accepted as of April 22 for stays starting on May 10⎯⎯the day The Great Gatsby hits theaters nationwide.
