Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company is heading to Kyoto.
By incorporating the work of Japanese design houses such as Spin Studio, the hotel-set to open in early 2014- will meld modernity and Japanese tradition in its design. The architecture and design will preserve the traditional Meiji house and courtyard structure.
Featuring 136 guestrooms, the Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto will boast some of the largest in the city-sized at with an average size of 538 square feet. It will also feature four dining options and several banquet and meeting rooms, as well as a spa and other recreational facilities.
Says Victor Clavell, vice president of Asia Pacific for the Ritz-Carlton, “Kyoto is one of Japan’s cultural windows to the world, and we are proud to unveil a property that is sensitive to the 1,000 years of history and make a contribution to the rejuvenation and growth of the tourism business in Japan.”
