Following a nearly three-year restoration, the Savoy in London has announced an opening date of October 10, 2010. Pierre-Yves Rochon is overseeing the interiors, while Reardon Smith is providing architectural services. General contractor Chorus Group is overseeing a team of more than 1,000 craftsmen, artists, and artisans who have worked to create interiors that are in the spirit of the hotel’s two main design aesthetics, Edwardian and Art Deco.
The project encompasses the entire hotel, including its 268 guestrooms and suites. The River Restaurant has been completely remodeled, while the Beaufort Bar and Savoy Tea are new additions. Gordon Ramsay’s company will operate the Savoy Grill. Other new amenities include a glass-enclosed fitness gallery and rooftop swimming pool.
