The Verb Hotel is set to open this summer at the site of the former Fenway Motor Hotel in Boston. Originally built in 1959, the property will now be a 94-room reimagination of the classic mid-century motel.
“We saw a real opportunity to create something unique in this space, while respecting the independent spirit of the local community, building on the arts culture in Fenway, and delivering real hospitality in a world that moves too fast,” says Steve Samuels, chairman and principal of Samuels & Associates, the project’s developers. “The Verb will be a distinctive destination and experience for locals, tourists, and business travelers alike.”
Inside, rare music and pop-culture memorabilia from Boston’s heritage-such as covers from historic alt-weekly Boston Phoenix and photographs of local musicians-will adorn public spaces. The collection will be curated by David Bieber, the director of special projects for the Phoenix Media Group, and supported by former Boston Phoenix publisher, Stephen Mindich.
Other amenities include an outdoor pool and a restaurant, which will be announced in the fall.
