The Thief hotel has opened on the waterfront of Oslo, Norway. An exhaustive collection of contemporary art pervades the hotel, designed by Mellbye Architects. Like the rest of the hotel, each of the individually designed 119 guestrooms and suites boasts an elegant yet contemporary design. Balconies offer views of the fjord, the canals of Tjuvholmen, the neighboring buildings, or the Astrup Fearnley Museum. Furnishings by Patricia Urquiola and Antonio Citterio also are on display.
Regional influences also play an important role in the hotel’s scheme, from local designer Maggie Wonka on creating the bathrobes to Røros Tweed and L&J for the woolen blankets to local cuisine served at the Fru K restaurant.
