Thompson Hotels is venturing outside the United States to Canada. Scheduled to open in May, the 102-room Thompson Toronto will boast an entirely glass exterior, with interiors—designed by Studio Gaia—featuring floor-to-ceiling glass on every level, where vibrant pops of red and orange will accent dark oak hardwood floors.
From an F&B standpoint, the hotel will feature chef Scott Conant’s Scarpetta, as well as a 24-hour diner and sushi restaurant. A massive 3-D mural of Toronto’s skyline by Spanish artist Javier Mariscal will decorate the lobby bar. Thompson Toronto’s private 16th floor will have a rooftop pool area with seasonal cabanas and an indoor lounge with fireplace and bar. Other amenities include conference and function rooms, fitness facility, and yoga studio.
