Three longtime executives at Starwood Hotels & Resorts have announced their retirement: Matt Avril, president of the Hotel Group; Denise Coll, president of Starwood North America; and Miguel Ko, chairman and president of Starwood Asia Pacific. In addition, the company is combining its Latin America and North America divisions as Starwood Americas, which also will integrate its vacation-ownership unit.
The new leaders, all of whom are being promoted from within, include:
- Sergio Rivera, currently president and CEO of Starwood Vacation Ownership, has been promoted to co-president of Starwood Americas
- Osvaldo Librizzi, currently president of Latin America, will serve as co-president of Starwood Americas
- Stephen Ho, currently SVP of acquisitions and development for Starwood China, has been promoted to president of Asia Pacific
- Qian Jin, currently head of Starwood’s operations for China, has been promoted to the president of Greater China
- Christie Hicks, SVP, Starwood Sales Organization, will now report directly to president and CEO Frits van Paasschen
- John Peyton, currently SVP of operations for Starwood North America, will serve the new role of SVP of global initiatives
- Robert Hermany, currently SVP of operations, North America, has been promoted to replace Peyton in an expanded role of chief of North American operations & global initiatives
