Hospitality Design (HD) magazine has announced the 2014 recipients of the prestigious Platinum Circle Award. Honoring a select group of history makers who have changed the field of hospitality design, the Platinum Circle Awards Gala will take place on November 11th at the Conrad hotel in New York. Tickets are now available here.
This year’s honorees are Arthur Gensler, founder of San Francisco-based global design and architecture firm
Gensler; Danny Meyer, CEO of Unique Square Hospitality Group, the team behind restaurants Gramercy Tavern, Maialino, Shake Shack, and Union Square Café; Lauren Rottet, founder of Rottet Studio in Houston, an international architecture and design firm whose projects include St. Regis Aspen Resort, the Surrey hotel in New York, and the James Royal Palm in Miami Beach; and Adrian Zecha, founder of luxury hotel brand Amanresorts, with properties in the Philippines, Caribbean, and the French Alps.
The evening will also include a special dedication to the 30th anniversary of Rockwell Group, the New York-based architecture and design firm founded by David Rockwell. With notable museums, restaurants, hotels, airports, and hospitals to the group’s credit, HD will honor the impact the group has made in the industry with its HD Visionary Award.

Now in its 26th year, Platinum Circle celebrates hospitality architects, designers, owner-operators, and purchasers for their career-long achievements. Past recipients include Adam Tihany, Alexandra Champalimaud, Andrée Putman, Isadore Sharp, Jean-Michel Gathy, and nearly 100 more.
“It is quite an illustrious group,” says Michael Adams, HD‘s editorial director, “and these new honorees are more than deserving of entering the pantheon. Their individual contributions to the world of hospitality are significant and long lasting.”
