Todd English has opened Ça Va, the renowned chef’s twist on a French brasserie, in New York. The eatery includes an 80-seat dining room, inviting bar and lounge, and the adjacent quick-service market Ça Va Marché.
In its design of the space, Jeffrey Beers International references pastoral France through modern finishes and tailored architectural lines. Lighting and glass play an important role in the space, from the pendants alluding to hanging candles in the lounge to the David Weeks-designed chandeliers that evoke Bauhaus-era French design. Natural materials such as custom walnut millwork and whitewashed end-grain wood block flooring juxtapose the clean, modern structures and enhance the restaurant’s relationship with the garden courtyard. Ça Va also features eclectic pieces of artwork created by New York artist Jody Morlock.
