Tommy Hilfiger is setting his designs on a luxury hotel, partnering with a real estate investor to purchase New York’s Clock Tower office building for $170 million, according to the Wall Street Journal. The clothing designer and his business partner had previously put in a bid for eight floors at the former New York Times building and looked at the Hotel Chelsea.
“There are natural affinities between lifestyle hotels and fashion brands,” says Bjorn Hanson, dean of New York University’s Preston Robert Tisch Center for Hospitality, Tourism and Sports Management.
