InterContinental Genève in Geneva, Switzerland has unveiled the Residences, its new collection of suites. Having gone through a $110-million refurbishment over a period of 10 years, the new design of the Diplomatic Residences, Presidential Residence, and The Residence takes inspiration from historic palaces.

Refurbished and designed by New Yorkâ€â€œbased Tony Chi, each residence couples the privacy of a home with the services of a worldwide luxury hotel. Chi’s design outfits the Residences with a generous living space and a marble bathroom that take advantage of the views of Lake Geneva, the Jura Mountains, and Mont Blanc.
“The objective was to provide the hotel with a completely new look-modern but classical-and at one with the natural beauty and sophisticated international presence of the city on the Rhône,” says Chi. “The overall design, colors, materials, and furniture were all chosen to give InterContinental Genève a grand presence that is both welcoming to guests and symbolic of the city’s important role in Swiss life and global affairs.”
The Diplomatic Residences house a master bedroom, separate living room and dining area, dressing chamber, marble bathroom, powder room, study, two guest powder rooms, and pantry. The Presidential Residence is made up of two connecting Diplomatic Residences for two master bedrooms, two dining rooms, two living spaces, a dressing chamber, two marble bathrooms, powder room, study, two guest powder rooms, and a pantry.
The Residence is composed of an East and West wing, creating a space with two master bedrooms and nine additional rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows-including a grand salon, library, gallery, private elevator, kitchen, bar, and personal butler. The East Wing encompasses a living and dining room, master bedroom, bathroom, guest powder room, massage room, hamman, dressing chamber, vestibule chamber, and pantry; while the West Wing includes an additional fitness room and sauna.
