Towne Food & Drink has opened on the ground floor of the Watermarke Tower in downtown Los Angeles. Owner Armen Shirvanian tapped architect Mark Zeff to create an “urban chic” venue. Zeff partitioned the 7,000-square-foot space into several intimate areas, each with its own distinct feel. Translucent draperies separate the private dining room, while the lounge showcases wood paneling and tiled off-white columns.

In the lounge, guests can sit in sleek-backed cushioned bar stools or lush caramel-colored leather chairs. The red and white dining room, meanwhile, imparts modernity, thanks to bold chandeliers and wall-mounted lamps that illuminate a photo collage representative of Old Hollywood. The restaurant’s casual yet sophisticated atmosphere continues to the terrace, where patrons can sit in wood-backed dining chairs as they soak in the cityscape that surrounds them.
