Thomas J. McCartney has been appointed president of Tropicana Las Vegas. He most recently served as president and CEO of Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. Prior to his tenure there, he spent 12 years with MGM Mirage in senior leadership roles, overseeing the opening of New York New York and the Luxor’s repositioning efforts. McCartney also served as vice president of hotel operations at Caesars Atlantic City.
"I am thrilled to have Tom join the Tropicana Las Vegas team," says chairman and CEO Alex Yemenidjian in a statement. "He is truly a unique talent, and an executive of his caliber will be instrumental to the operational and physical transformation of our resort." The property is currently undergoing a $125 million phase one renovation and rebranding.
