Later this year, Sol Melia will open two all-inclusive Paradisus Resorts in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. Both properties were designed by Sol Melia’s architect, Alvaro Sans, to work harmoniously with the area’s climate, terrain, and coastline.
Paradisus La Perla, the brand’s first adults-only resort, will offer 394 suites, 60 of which allow direct access from their terrace to the freeform pool. The resort’s two Royal Service Presidential Suites feature a private pool, bar, along with an exclusive restaurant surrounded by palapas and a private beach. Meanwhile, Paradisus La Esmeralda will offer 512 luxury suites, including 56 swim-up suites, 122 Family Concierge suites, and two presidential suites, allowing for two- and three-bedroom suite configurations.
Both resorts share a common area called “El Zocalo,” a term in Mexican culture which signifies a city’s social center. The space will house a 20,000-square-foot YHI Spa and Health Club with 14 massage cabins, as well as 10 restaurants, an activities center, an amphitheater overlooking the Gulf of Mexico, and 25,000 square feet of function space. In addition, 10 bars-including a beach club-are situated throughout the property.
