Vail Resorts is investing about $80 million in its holdings for the 2010-2011 ski season. A new 14,750-square-foot restaurant is planned at the top of the Heavenly Gondola at Heavenly Mountain resort, while Keystone Lodge’s guestrooms will be upgraded to include flatscreen TVs and tinted windows that that will reduce solar gain during the day and heat loss after the sun goes down. In addition, Vail Resorts will open two new real estate properties this summer and fall: One Ski Hill Place and the Ritz-Carlton Residences, both comprising wholly owned units.
