Daniel and Judy Dobin, founders of Valley Forge Fabrics, have announced that their children, Diana and Michael, have been named co-presidents of the successful textile supplier for lodging and hospitality. Still very much active and considered integral cornerstones of the business, founders Dan and Judy will still maintain vital roles within Valley Forge.
“We are proud of the announcement made today,” says Daniel Dobin. “This transition from acting like a president of a company to being formally named and installed as the president has been in the works for several years. A quiet transition has been taking place and the time came to make it official. While Judy and I will not be stepping down anytime soon from our regular day-to-day responsibilities, we are delighted to see the torch passed from generation to generation. Like the rest of our industry, we expect great things from Diana and Michael and look forward to a bigger and brighter future for our company and our industry.”
Sister and brother Diana and Michael together have been raised in the family business and each brings tremendous passion and vitality to Valley Forge. Diana’s 18 years of experience and Michael’s 14 years of experience both include international postings in Asia, sales management of various domestic and international territories, product development and, teambuilding. Diana’s present responsibilities include direct supervision of all sustainability, design, graphics, and PR of Valley Forge’s international textile manufacturing business. Michael’s present responsibilities include direct supervision of all product development and sales of Valley Forge’s expanding and international textile manufacturing business. Both share the responsibility of strategy, planning, and business development for Valley Forge’s worldwide operations.
Over the last few years, Diana and Michael have gradually and gracefully taken leadership responsibilities as they successfully re-branded Valley Forge as the leader in sustainable textiles while still maintaining the company’s position as the largest producer of decorative fabrics for hospitality. With the introduction of the sustainable fabric collection, FRESH (an acronym for Fabrics Redefining Environmental Standards for Hospitality) and the LIVING FRESH sheeting collection made with Tencel+Plusâ„¢ Lyocell Eucalyptus, Valley Forge has been called a “sustainability super-power” by those in the industry press, in large part due to Diana and Michael’s efforts.
While the company’s goals have not changed, Diana and Michael, as co-presidents, plan on continuing their parents’ legacy by maintaining a dynamic and exciting company well positioned to deliver world-class textiles at competitive prices.
