Santa Ana, California-based VanRooy Design has transformed the Courtyard Long Beach Downtown’s lobby and public spaces.
Embracing the hotel’s surroundings, the new lobby area at the Long Beach hotel features a fresh, coastal atmosphere. All public spaces have already been redesigned to reflect Southern California living, and guestroom renovations are estimated for completion in December.
The lobby features an earth-tone color scheme and local vintage photographs acquired from the Historical Society of Long Beach. Leather seating, wood stains, and natural jute flooring contrast with vintage iron cabinets and rich stone accents. A large selection of books and music helps to bring a sense of home to the hotel.
“With the redesign, the lobby area and public spaces are inspired to feel more like the home of a longtime friend, and that same design will be carried through to the guestrooms,” says Jerry van Rooy, principal design director of VanRooy Design. “The vintage-inspired look and natural wood and stone accents create a beautiful space where guests can relax and enjoy the fresh and comfortable atmosphere so befitting Long Beach.”
