The 115-key Viana Hotel and Spa has opened in Westbury, New York, on Long Island. From the mountain wall on the property’s eastern border to the marble compass embedded in the entryway, the boutique hotel employs the principles of feng shui and its five elements: fire, water, wood, metal, and earth. The hotel features six spa treatment rooms, along with Viana’s Marco Polo Restaurant and Bar, which fuses traditional Italian cuisine with an Asian influence.
Environmental sensitivity also plays a role in the hotel, with initiatives such as a rooftop solar energy system, energy-saving lighting, bathrooms with water-saving dual-flush systems, eco-friendly materials and furniture, and guest towels and robes made from natural bamboo fibers.
