W Hotels Worldwide has made its Southeast Asia debut with W Retreat Koh Samui. Architecture firm MAPS Design Studio and Thailand-based interior designers P49 Deesign have created a modern paradise that is an escape within an escape. The W Lounge welcomes guests with interactive digital floor projections, off-white terrazzo floors, high ceilings clad in angular bleached wood veneer panels, large bookshelves, oversized lamps, and a water feature inspired by the shape of the lotus flower. F&B concepts include WooBar, the Kitchen Table, and signature restaurant Namu.
For accommodations, 75 private villas are outfitted with a private pool, daybeds, an outdoor shower, 46-inch plasma screen TV, wine refrigerator, and signature W bed. Guests also have access to the 6,200-square-foot Away Spa, WET pool, fitness facility, water sports center, tennis court, Style Lab, and function space known as the Great Room.
