The 251-key W Austin has debuted in the heart of Texas. Locally based Andersson-Wise Architects and interior designer Heather Plimmer of Stratus Properties (one of the hotel’s owners) teamed to form a design that playfully juxtaposes masculine and feminine details. Dark metallic tones are accented with pops of vibrant red and blue hues, along with layered fabrics. The influence of Austin’s musical roots is prevalent in details such as the guitar strap design that surrounds the bathroom mirror.
Trace, the 3,138-square-foot restaurant, features a main dining room, private and outdoor dining, and a bar. Chef Paul Hargrove, together with forage Valerie Broussard, source the freshest, highest quality sustainable and organic ingredients. Meanwhile, in the Living Room, two sections showcase 8,000 vinyl records and a vintage McIntosh stereo. At the AWAY Spa, guests have access to seven stylish treatment rooms, including a VIP room for couples’ treatments. W Austin also features more than 10,500 square feet of ultra-modern meeting and event space.
