Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide has plans to debut the W Hotels brand in the Shenyang province of Northeast China. Scheduled to open in 2019, W Shenyang will be located along Qingnian Avenue, known as the city’s Golden Corridor.
“We are delighted to partner with Huaqiang Group to launch the W brand in Shenyang,” said Qian Jin, president of greater China for Starwood. “Since W Hotels made its debut in mainland China last year, the brand continues to redefine China’s luxury hotel experience. W Shenyang will offer cutting-edge design, Whatever/Whenever service, a bustling bar and restaurant, and insider access to what’s new and next for both guests and locals alike.”
W Hotels is slated to open 12 new properties in the Asia Pacific region by 2019 with more than half those hotels planned for China, including new flagships in Beijing and Shanghai, as well as Suzhou, Changsha, and Chengdu.
W Shenyang will offer an integrated contemporary design with 280 guestrooms, including 30 suites and an Extreme Wow suite (the W brand’s reinterpretation of the traditional Presidential suite). It will also feature more than 26,000 square feet of modern meeting and event space. In addition, the hotel will offer four restaurants and bars, including all-day dining, Chinese, and specialty options, as well as the Living Room Bar.
