Hilton Worldwide’s Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts has opened the Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam.
Located on the UNESCO area of Herengracht, this canal-side property is made up of six historic 17th- and 18th-century townhouses. Once home to some of the wealthiest and most influential residents of the city, the patrician houses have been restored to create the 93-room hotel.
Each of the guestrooms and suites overlook the city or the canal. Referencing works by Dutch painter Johannes Vermeer, the rooms are dressed with accents of lapis lazuli and ochre hues. Each bedroom retains the historical charm of the original buildings with beamed ceilings, sash windows, and spacious bathrooms with freestanding baths.

The hotel offers several restaurants, including Librije’s Zusje Amsterdam and the Maurer Room, which showcases Rococo interiors. Waldorf Astoria’s signature Peacock Alley is an elegant lounge option with a center stage armillary sphere as a nod to the property’s links to sail, trade, and time. The Vault Bar also offers an intimate drinking venue in the space of a former bank vault.
