Atlanta-based design practice Smith Hanes Studio has completed its design of new eatery, Nina & Rafi, in its hometown. Crafted in collaboration with the restaurant’s owners, Anthony Spina and Billy and Jenn Streck, the Italian concept faces the BeltLine’s Eastside trail from its home within the SPX Alley commercial hub.
The aesthetic balances casual and elegant details, with elements like wood and tile floors and exposed brick illuminated by vintage lighting. Banquette seating spans the dining room alongside an open kitchen, which is anchored by four PizzaMaster ovens. Expansive steel-framed garage doors connect the interior with patio seating, providing passersby a glimpse into the new space.
