Belgian luxury brand Delvaux has introduced a new London boutique along the commercial corridor of New Bond Street. Longtime collaborator Milanese studio Vudafieri-Saverino Partners was tapped to spearhead the design of the new retail space with Delvaux’s Belgian heritage marrying the modern vernacular of the city.
Housed within a structure originally designed by William Flockhart in 1906, the store pays homage to the building’s architectural heritage. The storefront is punctuated with large windows detailed with bronze moldings, while the interior is defined by wood paneling and the store’s signature black matte finish. The dark, sophisticated palette accentuates the curvature of the boiserie in an opulent contrast to the square geometry of the shelving and the gold finish of the displays. Black boiserie also marks the staircase leading to the basement floor, where the dichotomy between the white of Delvaux’s wardrobe and the dark tones of the room stands out. In addition, custom red sofas inspired by the English flag inject the space with a dash of color.
