Entropia, a luxe new timepiece boutique, has debuted as the latest posh amenity at the St. Regis Istanbul. The spacious two-floor retail concept was crafted by international design studio Ofist with a French elegance that pays homage to the spirit of Art Deco. Moreover, architects Yasemin Arpaç and Sabahattin Emir conceived the environment as a testament to the art of horology, or watchmaking and timekeeping, through a warm, but refined materiality. “The priority was to provide comfort,” Emir says. “We aimed for quality and elegance. On the other hand, nothing ultra-modern or new. Instead, familiar with classic materials.”
Classic materials like brass, marble, walnut, and handmade ceramic tiles adorn the space, and handsomely complement the brands on display, which include IWC, Cartier, and more. A diverse collection of art and eclectic furnishings punctuate the sleek space, which is also equipped with a thoughtful lighting design to compensate for a lack of natural light inside. “Since there’s no natural daylight, our biggest challenge was to provide the necessary, comfortable light,” Arpaç says.
Entropia is also home to an inviting lounge on its lower level, which comprises three sections alongside a large library that’s reminiscent of a private club.
