Parisian interior designer Sarah Lavoine has elevated her shoppable apartment concept with the opening of her new Maison Sarah Lavoine showroom within a 19th-century structure in Paris’ 16th arrondissement. Spread across 1,500 square feet, the concept is designed by Lavoine to honor the workshop aesthetic of the interior, which previously belonged to a locksmith. This outpost joins her maiden store that opened last year in the 2nd arrondissement.
“The interior design work was supposed to reveal the beauty of this ancient place, and highlight its main features so people could feel authenticity and happiness when getting in,” Lavoine says.
The historic location embraces its original ambiance with rough, industrial features including brick walls and a glass ceiling that filters natural light into the retail space. Original work benches and beams also remain intact for authenticity. The space is crafted with a layout akin to an house, complete with an entertainment space, bedroom loft, and wardrobes that display Lavoine’s apparel. An onsite patisserie is expected to arrive soon as well.
