Snøhetta oversaw the design of Oslo-based fashion brand Holzweiler’s new showroom and flagship at the Lysaker Brygge harbor of the Norwegian capital.
The showroom is wrapped in a muted color palette and accented with gridded shelving elements and curved apparel displays. Beige wood curtains are suspended from a ceiling grid to create pockets of privacy across the industrial but warm interior. Oak and marble tables are installed atop concrete floors, while arch-like mirrors punctuate the showroom space.
A visual connection between the flagship and the showroom is maintained with large glass windows and flexible storage systems composed of mirrors and idea boards that perpetuate uniformity. Conceived as a more straight-forward retail environment, the flagship is accessed from the showroom via a curved passage enclosed by white paper walls. The retail space is also clad with 3,000 handmade, mustard-color tiles alongside flexible shelving systems that mirror the grid pattern of Holzweiler scarves.
