Global design and lifestyle brand West Elm has announced a new partnership with clothing rental platform Rent the Runway, where Rent the Runway subscribers are able to choose from 26 exclusive bundles of decorative pillows, throws, shams, quilts, and coverlets across a medley of colors, styles, prints, and textures. The partnership marks the first time West Elm has introduced rental products.
“This is a monumental moment for Rent the Runway and the sharing economy as a whole. We know that clothing is often a vehicle to help people feel confident and expressive, and this new partnership will unlock that feeling through home décor,” says Rent the Runway cofounder and CEO Jennifer Hyman.
The new platform will provide users the freedom to update their spaces as often and as extensively as they like through curation, style, and convenience. Bedroom bundles will comprise a tailored combination of a quilt, coverlet, throw or blanket, shams, and decorative pillows. Living room bundles will include decorative pillows and/or a throw. Materials throughout all bundle mixtures feature organic cotton, velvet, handspun silk, and Belgian flax linen in stone white, rosete, mineral blue, golden oak, carmine red, and colorful embroidery.
“We are making it easier than ever for customers to discover great design for their spaces,” said Alex Bellos, president of West Elm. “Each of our 26 curated home bundles encourage subscribers to translate their playful and bold style to decorating, and allow them to experience West Elm’s original, modern products from the comforts of home.”
The partnership will also reflect the emphasis both brands place on sustainability, accruing an international selection of handcrafted, sustainably sourced, and Fair Trade Certified products.
