Best Western International has partnered with Earth Day Network for the third consecutive year to raise awareness on environmental issues in celebration of Earth Day.
The company has launched an Acts of Green photo-sharing contest on Instagram designed to inspire the brand’s fans to showcase their eco-friendly habits. Daily prizes will be awarded to participants following @bestwestern and @earthdaynetwork using #actsofgreen in their posts. The winner will receive a vacation at an eco-friendly Best Western hotel in one of 10 North American destinations.
“Since 2011, Earth Day Network has collected 1.1 billion Acts of Green from people all over the planet who want to live a greener life,” says Earth Day Network president Kathleen Rogers. “Thousands of these Green Acts have originated from Best Western’s eco-friendly hotel owners and its guests.”
Best Western has more than 1,100 properties that have been designated eco-friendly. These hotels must comply with qualifications set forth by one or more of the approved domestic or international eco-labeling programs. Best Western Rewards members are also able to donate points to Earth Day Network’s Canopy project, which plants one tree for every U.S. dollar donated.
