Private health and social club Biân has officially opened its doors in Chicago—offering a holistic approach to wellness and wellbeing. Karen Herold of locally based firm Studio K Creative spearheaded the design of the dynamic environment, which comprises fitness and therapeutic spaces, as well as dining options and medical amenities. Novel concepts, such as a vinyl listening room and a nap room, further emphasize the new brand’s comprehensive understanding of wellness alongside yoga studios and grand event spaces.
Totaling more than 25,000 square feet, Biân features a neutral palette reminiscent of a spa. Grounding hues—including creams, whites, taupes, and accents of petrol indigo blue—are accented by an abundance of greenery installed throughout the space to demonstrate growth. Soft linen and comforting wool fabrics offset the exposed lime-washed concrete walls.
