The Crash Pad in downtown Chattanooga, Tennessee, has earned LEED Platinum certification, the first hostel in the world to attain the status. Designed by local architects Blythe Bailey and Taylor Bowers of River Street Architecture, the property boasts many sustainable features:

- Low-flow plumbing fixtures
- Graywater filtration systems
- “Green education” plaques for guests
