Duralee vice president Amy Benjamin has earned LEED Green Associate status, a prerequisite to becoming a LEED Associate Professional (AP). The Green Associate designation covers an overview of certification in all areas of green building design, including site selection, energy, water, lighting, materials, and building reuse. "I was motivated to learn this material as a business owner so that I can promote environmentally friendly practices in all levels of Duralee and become more aware of how to further develop our ‘green’ product lines,” Benjamin says. "It was also important for me to fully understand the various dimensions of eco-conscious design and the challenges that builders, architects and interior designers face when their projects attempt to get LEED certified."
