EcoSpec Tile has made its debut as a manufacturer devoted to making sustainable tile. The initial product offering includes sustainable tile material made of 50 percent pre-consumer waste, 20 percent post-consumer waste, and 30 percent new material recycled contents, all obtained in the Southern California area. Tile formats range from mosaic tile sized 2-inches-by-2-inches up to 12-inches-by-12-inches field tile. “Brick sizes” from 1-inch-by-8-inches and 4-inches-by-8-inches are available as well. The EcoSpec collection can be specified in matte, gloss, crackle, and hand-painted surface finishes.
