Starwood‘s Element brand has debuted in the Midwest with the 132-room Element Omaha Midtown Crossing. Designed for LEED certification, the hotel features eco-friendly materials, swaths of natural light, low-flow faucets and fixtures, and energy-efficient lighting and appliances. To further reduce waste, bathrooms are equipped with amenity dispensers, kitchens are supplied with silverware and glassware instead of plastic utensils and paper cups, and filtered drinking water is available rather than plastic water bottles. Guests also have access to Rise, the hotel’s complimentary breakfast; the Motion fitness center; and the Bikes-to-Borrow program.
