Element Miami International Airport has opened its doors. The hotel, built to LEED standards, features a host of eco-friendly elements, such as low-flow bath fixtures, low-VOC paints, carpeting made of recycled content, Energy Star appliances in guestroom kitchens, filter systems for drinking water in lieu of plastic bottles, amenity dispensers in bathrooms, and large windows to bring in plenty of natural light.

The hotel is big on style, too. Guestrooms boast modular furniture, flatsreen TVs, large desks with open shelving, and custom-designed closets. Public spaces include a lobby with a multi-storied window wall, and outdoor firepit, and a 791-square-foot meeting room with flexible layout.
