Starwood Hotels & Resorts‘ green hotel brand will make a stop near Newark Liberty International Airport. Scheduled to open in summer 2014, Element Harrison will feature 138 light-filled guestrooms and suites boasting modular furniture, swiveling flatscreen TVs, large desks with open shelving, and custom-designed closets. Spa-inspired bathrooms offer a rain-shower and dual-flush toilet, while full kitchens are equipped with filtered water and Energy Star-rated appliances.
Gathering spaces also play a big role in the hotel’s design, including a lobby flooded with natural light, a multi-storied window wall, an outdoor firepit, and water features. The hotel also calls for an indoor pool, a fitness center, gourmet food pantry, and 1,500 square feet of meeting space.
