Starwood Hotels & Resorts has signed its first Element hotel in Europe. Opening in 2014, the eco-friendly Element Frankfurt Airport will feature 133 light-filled guestrooms and suites outfitted with modular furniture, large desks with open shelving, custom-designed closets, full kitchens equipped with Energy Star-rated appliances, and spa-inspired baths outfitted with a rain shower and dual-flush toilet. Amenities include a fitness center and meeting room.
Element Hotels boast a range of sustainable features, such as carpets made with up to 100 percent recycled content, recycled carpet cushions, wall art mounted on a base made from recycled tires, and low-VOC paints to improve indoor air quality.
