First Hotel in Peru Attains LEED Certification

Tambo del Inka, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, is the first hotel in Peru to earn LEED certification. Located in the middle of the Sacred Valley of Urubamba, the resort was developed to ensure that the local plant and wildlife have not been disturbed. The property’s owners created a water treatment plant to filter water throughout the resort and irrigate its grounds. Other green initiatives include the installation of indoor climate monitoring and lighting control systems, as well as establishing programs that promote recycling, towel/linen reuse, and carpooling or biking to work.
