The EPA has presented two Harrah’s properties—Bally’s and Paris Las Vegas—its WasteWise New Partner Gold Achievement Award, which recognizes comprehensive waste reduction programs. In 2008, the two hotels recycled:
• 417 tons of cardboard
• 25,690 pounds of glass
• 36,745 pounds of plastic
• 20,800 gallons of recycled kitchen oil
• Nearly 150,000 pounds of paper
The recycling accomplishments are the latest in Harrah’s systemwide conservation efforts. The gaming conglomerate has reduced CO2 emissions by 243 million pounds annually over the last six years.
